What to Wear: Styling Your Central Florida Family Session
Let’s be honest—once you book your family photo session, the very next thought that pops into your head is usually: “What on earth are we all going to wear?”
At Flash Exposure Fotography, we move away from the traditional look of perfectly matching white shirts and jeans. Instead, we love an organic, curated look that complements the breathtaking natural beauty of Central Florida's mossy oaks and golden fields.
Our signature look relies on a cohesive palette we call Amber & Earth. If you are preparing for an upcoming session (or putting your name in for our recent Model Call!), here is our foolproof guide to styling your family:
family:
1. The Palette: Ambers, Terracotta, Olive, and Cream
Instead of matching, aim to coordinate. Choose 2–3 colors from our signature palette and mix them across your family members. Dad looks incredible in an olive henley or linen button-down.
Mom can bring in warmth with a flowing terracotta or rust-toned maxi dress.
The Kids can tie it all together in neutral creams, soft ambers, or warm tans.
2. Texture is Everything
When clothing lacks heavy patterns, texture is what makes a photo feel rich and high-end. Look for tactile fabrics that catch the golden hour light beautifully:
Linen dresses and shirts
Chunky or loose knits
Waffle-weave cotton and denim accents
3. Move Freely
Our sessions are candid, unfiltered, and full of movement. If your kids can't run, jump, and give you giant bear hugs in their outfits without a collar scratching them or a skirt pulling tight, it’s best to swap it out! Comfortable clothes mean authentic smiles.
